Where Thoughtful Design Meets Natural Beauty
Designed by Vancouver architect Brad Lamoureux and opened in 2006— Cathedral Mountain Lodge is a purposefully crafted mountain retreat built to live in harmony with its natural surroundings. Using native logs, timber framing, and local stone, the lodge reflects the textures and colours of the Rocky Mountains and the Kicking Horse River valley. Large windows and vaulted ceilings in the Great Room and many cabins frame sweeping alpine views, bringing the beauty of Yoho National Park directly indoors.
Each handcrafted log cabin is carefully positioned among the trees along the riverbank, allowing the lodge to blend seamlessly into the forest and preserve the quiet atmosphere of the wilderness. This thoughtful design creates a rare balance of refined comfort and raw nature, giving guests a luxury cabin experience that feels deeply connected to the landscapes of the Canadian Rockies.
Home Away From Home
Each cabin at Cathedral Mountain Lodge is a handcrafted sanctuary, designed to immerse guests in the serenity of the Canadian Rockies. Built with native logs and stone accents, the cabins combine rustic mountain charm with modern luxury, featuring king-size beds, deep soaker tubs, wood-burning fireplaces, and private decks that frame breathtaking views of the Kicking Horse River and surrounding peaks. Vaulted ceilings and large windows draw the outdoors inside, allowing sunlight to flood the living spaces and capturing the changing seasons of Yoho National Park.
Whether you’re curling up by the fire after a day of hiking or sipping morning coffee while listening to the river, every cabin offers an intimate connection to nature. Thoughtful touches like antique-style furnishings, L’Occitane bath amenities, and carefully placed lighting enhance comfort while maintaining a deep sense of place. Together, the cabins create a secluded, luxurious retreat that perfectly balances adventure, relaxation, and the untamed beauty of the Rockies.
